ChartHawk ("we", "our", "us") does not sell your data. This policy explains what we collect when you use charthawk.ai, who processes it, and how to delete it.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Your chart image and questions are sent only to the AI company whose model you choose for that analysis. Each company processes them under its own terms and privacy policy.
| Company | Models offered in ChartHawk | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|

| OpenAI | GPT | openai.com/policies/privacy-policy |
| Gemini | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| xAI | Grok | x.ai/legal/privacy-policy |
If you don't choose a model, ChartHawk uses its default model. Each answer is labelled with the model that produced it, so you always know which company processed that analysis.

Your charts and analyses are private by default. When you choose Make Public, anyone with the link can see that chart and its analysis, and it may appear in the public ChartHawk gallery with a short summary. You can make it private again or delete it at any time.
We keep your charts and analyses for as long as your account exists, so your history is there when you return. You can delete any individual analysis from your sidebar or dashboard at any time.
To delete your account and all associated data, request it through the feedback button. We will remove your data within 30 days.

By creating an account or using ChartHawk at charthawk.ai, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use ChartHawk.
ChartHawk analyzes chart images with AI. It explains what a chart shows, flags misleading design choices such as truncated axes, cherry-picked date ranges and distorted scales, and answers your follow-up questions.
ChartHawk is free while in beta. Features may change, be added or be removed during the beta. Paid plans are planned; if we introduce them, we will tell you before any charge applies, and nothing you use today will be charged without your agreement.
You can try ChartHawk without an account. Signing in, with email and password or with Google, lets you save your history and choose other AI models.
Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us through the feedback button if you think someone else has used it.
You keep ownership of the charts you upload and the questions you ask. You give ChartHawk permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the service, for example to analyze them, save your history, and show them on a share page if you make them public.
Only upload charts you have the right to use. Don't upload confidential information you aren't allowed to share with outside services.
To analyze a chart, ChartHawk sends the image and your questions to the AI company whose model you choose: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI. By using a model, you also agree to follow that company's usage policy:
Our Privacy Policy explains how these companies handle your data.
Your charts are private unless you choose Make Public. A public chart and its analysis can be seen by anyone with the link and may appear in the public gallery. You can make it private again or delete it at any time.
Signed-in users can comment on public charts. Comments are public, appear with your display name, and must be under 1,000 characters. We may remove a public chart or comment that breaks these terms.
When using ChartHawk, don't:
If you create an API key in your dashboard, keep it secret. Anything done with your key counts as done by your account. You can delete a key at any time, and we may disable keys that are misused.
ChartHawk is provided "as is" and "as available". AI analyses can be wrong or incomplete, and different models may reach different conclusions about the same chart. Always apply your own judgment. ChartHawk is a tool to support critical thinking, not replace it, and is not professional, financial, legal or medical advice.
To the extent the law allows, ChartHawk is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on an analysis. Because the service is free during the beta, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is currently nothing.
You can stop using ChartHawk at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, request it through the feedback button, and we will remove your data within 30 days. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
We may update these terms as ChartHawk changes. When we make a significant change, we will ask you to review and accept the new terms the next time you sign in.
